James Watson (1750-1806) was an officer in the Revolutionary War and member of the Society of the Cincinnati. James M. Watson became a wealthy New York merchant and served in the N.Y. State Assembly 1791, 1794-1796, State senate 1796-1798, United States Senate from August 17, 1798, to March 19, 1800. He is the father of James Talcot Watson (1789-1899).

Each bearing script initials "JMW", for James M. Watson (1750-1806), in underglaze blue enamels.
