Part of a set, which was the private commission of King Louis-Philippe to commemorate the journey he made with his two brothers in the Spring of 1779 through the north-eastern part of the United States. This view is understood to have been painted by Marilhat from watercolors executed by an artist who accompanied the then Prince Louis-Philippe.
